Decades of experience focused on quality

Our culture is one of commitment, integrity, and doing right by every one of our customers.

EXPERIENCE

A team built on technical discipline and real-world solutions.

Our team is comprised of professionals that not only have decades of experience, but who have also come into the building automation industry from several different directions. Some of our members began as facility operations and maintenance personnel, and learned about the best and worst BAS practices through everyday work responsibilities. This deep familiarity with the actual impact of early design and configuration decisions keeps our solutions grounded, and helps us focus on the experience of your team: What will this mean for the day-to-day operators?

Several of our team members studied mechanical and electrical systems through rigorous training and service in the US Navy. The discipline and precision required to operate and maintain nuclear reactors laid a framework for their strategic approach to problem solving. We apply this approach to your facility challenges too: a thorough review of available data, weighing the potential risks and outcomes of each proposed solution, and then decisive execution.

Our collective experience also includes years in IT and network management, where building automation is just one of many contributors to the complex infrastructure and traffic management responsibilities. As building automation moves away from isolated, proprietary networks and protocols, our knowledge of the integration requirements and impacts of our systems in a broader IT landscape becomes crucial for troubleshooting and future-proofing your facility.

The biotech research and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries also contributed to our knowledge base, as the critical environmental controls and documentation requirements must stand up to regulatory scrutiny. Whether you are a cGMP facility or not, we bring the same thorough documentation and testing rigor to each project.

system integration

Hospital Pressure Cascade Monitoring

Castro Valley, CA

A large hospital needed to replace the room-to-room differential pressure monitors with minimal downtime. We helped them find the best way to leverage their existing MS/TP trunk without introducing additional risk for this critical monitoring infrastructure. Maybe some more detail here.

alarm management

A New Building with 4,000 Daily Alarms

San Diego, CA

One of the largest hardware and software companies in the world was rapidly expanding their research campus, but the construction was moving too quickly. Brand new buildings were handed over with hundreds of thousands of alarms coming in every day, flooding the pagers and crashing the servers. After remediation, the alarms were down to less than 10 per day. Replace fake info with real info.

automation service

A High-Rise with a Smoke Control Problem

San Francisco, CA

The property manager of an occupied high-rise in San Francisco was facing legal action due to failing a city inspection. Their building automation vendor had given up on troubleshooting and refused to send any more technicians to the site. We offered to take a look, and were able to identify several issues with the programming and relays spread throughout the building. Because they could finally show progress, the property manager's court date was postponed. With the additional time, we were able to help them correct their smoke control programming and pass inspection.

System Audit

A Boutique Solution for a Research Lab's Unique Environment

Rancho Bernado, CA

A team of research scientists for a global hardware developer needed to tightly control the temperature for the environment of an experiment. The problem was the research was taking place inside a faraday cage, so penetrating the wall for control wiring was prohibited. We worked with their existing HVAC equipment and found a small, easily mounted temperature sensor that could communicate to a router inside the faraday cage. I don't know the details of this.

commissioning management

New Datacenter Performance Testing

San Jose, CA

A global leader in chip manufacturing needed to build out a leased space for datacenter cooling and electrical performance studies. We wrote commissioning scripts with the input of their SMEs, oversaw the testing, and summarized results with recommendations. As active project support, we were able to help coordinate the various contractors and trades to ensure the systems were ready to test on the owner's schedule.

Owner Representation

Biotech Manufacturing Campus Migrates Entire BAS to New Front End

Oceanside, CA

An active manufacturing and research campus was required by their vendor to upgrade the BAS software to the latest offering. As an owner's representative, we participated in meetings, reviewed documents, verified vendor work, and helped re-write site procedures for the new software. The multi-year project required each panel and graphic to be prepared, scheduled, and then updated to minimize business impact as production and day-to-day operations continued.
